Investigation of iterative polyketide synthase
Iterative polyketide synthases (IPKS) are multifunctional enzymes that have only one module for chain extension. In this module is one copy of every domain that can be activated or inactivated in the extension. To get more information about these processes and the programming of PKS, the squalestatin tetraketide synthase enzyme (SQTKS) is being investigated. Isolated domains have been produced and shown to be active. These active domains were investigated with different synthesized compounds.
